Diversity

I was looking through some old blogs and reading some blogs of other people online and i was wondering....Can you ever over diversify? Is there such a thing as too much diversity? Can an advertisement go way too far with its idea of what diversity is? i just thought this was an interesting thought and wanted to know what you guys thought.
