Killings in Afghanistan

"Report says insurgent killings of civilians in Afghanistan up" by Laura King, was found in the Boston Globe. The article talked about the increase in killings in Afghanistan and about how most of the time the victims end up being civilians and not officials or other people in power. It was a very interesting article that went into detail about the recent increase in civilians deaths in Afghanistan. There were some parts that seemed to focus on the american point of view at the beginning and end, but the middle really seemed to capture the local point of view. there was a quote from a 9 year old year who had been injured and through her words you got a sense of the culture and the people. There were other quotes from people who were frightened and wanted the government to do something. It was a very good piece but you could tell it wasn't written from someone who was writing a local piece. However you got the sense of how bad it is in Afghanistan and it did seem to, at points, connect with the local view.
